Inspired by a French Megillat Esther (19th century), this ceramic shows Queen Esther
on the stage holding the puppets of Haman and Mordechai.
In the original scroll, the anonymous artist was influenced by the characters of the very
popular Guignol-Puppet Theater of Lyon.
